Description
In 1986, Clint Eastwood was elected Mayor of Carmel-by-the-sea for a two-year term. "His Honor The Mayor" was a commissioned work performed by internationally noted portrait artist Frank Tauriello, who also painted under commission for the sitting justices of the US Supreme Court. A limited edition of 3,500 posters was printed. The retail price was $35, and was sold only in a couple of small shops in Carmel. In 1989, after Mr. Eastwood left office, my family acquired the remaining unsold posters, which have been stored flat and in a container since acquisition.
